The ‘ Timaru Herald ’ writes :—lf farmers knew the value of linseed flax as an agricultural product, they would turn their attention to the cultivation of it. Its being hut little grown in these parts is evidence of an almost entire ignorance of its value, and, for this reason, we venture to make a few suggestions on its uoltiration and manufacture. One of the principal uses, to which linseed is app'red is tin production of oil, and in the old Country tins is a branch (>f trade employing a large amount of capital and labor, It is grown extensively in the British Isles and on the Continent, ai:d it lias been very successfully grown in this district in small quantities.
