PURSUANT to the provisions contained in the “Roads Act, 1872,” the Amendments thereof, and the “Local Elections Act, 1876,” Notice is hereby given that on SATURDAY, the 9th day of July, at the Public Hall, Marlboroughtown, an ELECTION will be held of THREE MEMBERS of the Board, in the room of those now retiring, and I hereby appoint MONDAY, the 4th day of July, to be the latest date for receiving nominations of persons qualified to be candidates thereat. Nominations in the form of the Second Schedule of the “ Local Elections Act, 1876,” must be delivered to me before noon on the day of nomination. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received until 4 o’clock p.m., on Tuesday, July sth 1881, for the CONSTRUCTION of about 7 miles of DRAY ROAD through the Awatere Shearing Reserve. They are to be marked outside “ Tender for Awatere Reserve Road, No. 1 Contract ” or as the case may be, and addressed, “The Chairman Awatere Road Board, Blenheim.” The work will be let in 13 Contracts, and each Contract must be tendered for separately. The Inspector will be on the ground on the 23rd and 24th June for the purpose of showing the line. Plans and specification can be seen at Mr C. J. W. Griffith’s office, Blenheim.
