THE INSPECTOR'S REPORT.

To THK EIHTOK. Sru—T have been shown statistics bearing on the Inspector’s report on one of our local schools, purporting to prove those data entirely fallacious. If these prove correct on closer examination (and I have no doubt the Education Board will institute a searching one), some of our local Committees and the Board itself, as ivell as the general public, have been cruelly misled and most serious injury done to many of our teachers. The statistics, taken from public records, certainly appear to show the utter unreliability of the report on this particular school, and if incorrect they prove the other reports utterly valueless. As the matter, however, will he brought before the Education Board I have little doubt but even-handed justice M ill bo done although I fear in many cases it will come too late.— l am, kc., A I.’aUKnt. To riii: Editoh. Su;—l was very much surprised last Saturday morning to see several members of our local cricket club playing on Sey; . air .Square. Xow, Sir. there is a tim: for everything, and l think it is anyth' / but a gentlemanly act to interfere with football in this niamier. In any other town these people would have been “ hooted " oil" the ground, but I hope that there few lines will have the desired effect and that they will begin to play cricket at the proper season of the year.—l am, kc., Ei iOTP.A llkk.
