HAVELOCK BOARD OF WORKS.

Tin-: Board met on Monday, December ‘2oth. Present —-Messrs Dorreen, Morison, Berry, and Smith (Chairman). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Letters were read from the Treasury, informing the Board that the sum of LMM 4s lid had been placed in the Bank of New Zealand, Pictoii, to the credit of the Board; From the ratepayers living in Cook-street and its immediate neighborhood, requesting the Board to metal the street during the present line weather ; From Mr C. T. Owen, requesting the Board to assist him to make a permanent footpath in front of Mr <lalloway’s draper’s shop.. The following resolutions were passed : That specifications he made out and tenders called for metalling Cook-street ; tenders to he in by the next monthly meeting of the Board. That MrC. J. Owen’s application he not granted the Board being of opinion that the path is quite good enough for the present. That Messrs Smith, Dorreen. and M orison review Nicholson-strcet, and report to the Board the amount of work required to he done. Mr Jones’tender for the Town assessment at L 5 being the only one in, it was accepted. The following accounts wore passed for payment C. F. Horton, fencing as per contract, Li) His Md ; E. Brown, metalling as per contract, LMM 14s; John Robinson, day labor, L‘2 : B.
