OMAKA ROAD BOARD.
Tuesday, Dki’EMlii-t. 14th. The Hoard met at eleven o’clock. Present —Messrs C. Redwood (in the chair), X. Watson, Jackson, and Horne. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. COKTIESI’O.VHENCE, ETC. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Sinclair, solicitor, informing him that his offer in reference to the gravel pit on the Middle Read, made to the previous meeting, will be accepted, the Board having the light to remove the fence. The letter (which has already been published) from Mr McXab, solicitor, to the Chairman, in reference to Mr Murphy's case, was read, and it was resolved that Mr Murphy should be allowed to make approaches on to his land from the crossroad, according to his request. It was resolved to call for tenders for clearing the Alabama ditch, and for forming five chains of Opawa-street, Redwood Town.
The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr George Atwood, requesting him to complete his contract for metalling Red-wood-street,

William Tapp is pushing on contract for forming the Remvick Old Road to the west of Mr Litchfield's gate.- and he is entitled to an advance of £29. The timber for a culvert on the Dashwood Ra'-'s" Road lias been ordered, and will be used immediately on its arrival. 'The Alabama ditch is completely choked up with watercress, avid it is recommended that tenders should ce called for cleaning it. About five chains of Opawa-street, Redwood Town, require forming so as to connect with the portion already formed by the Borough Council. Mr G. Atwood has not commenced his contract for metalling Red-wood-street from the Alabama Road southward. There is a great deal of gorse on the Remvick Old Road, fi'om Jackson's cross road to Melvor's bend, which has probably spread from the Omaka river. The Inspector recommends that tenders be called for clearing it. IMPOUNDIN'!!. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr I’reoth, asking him if he will take up his offer to impound cattle, &c.- f for the driving fees. TENDERS. The tender of Mr Barton for fencing the gravel pit at Remvick for 20s per chain was accepted, and that of Mr Ratty to erect three crates at L 5 each at Melvor’s bend. a ('counts. The following accounts were, passed for payment :—I. Fraser LI Ids, W. 'Tapp LI I 14s fid, Compton LI, E, Maddock Llli ns, i Tissiman L 7 10s, Batty Lid Ids, Cridley LI 10s, Rowe Bros. L2 9s, W.
