LONGEVITY IN AMERICA.
The census enumerators of Louisville, Kentucky, found centenarians in every block. One registered the name of a lady Avho reaehed°hcr 1 loth birthday last month. She walks about the house Avith ease, is usually affable, has never been sick in her life and can thread a needle as quick as a young girl. She resides Avith her great grandniece, who is her only living relative. James stone is 103 years old, and says he has been married eleven times. A coloured Avoman, named Rosette Washington, had reached the 117th year of a chequered existence. She Avas very certain of her age, because she remembered very distinctly doing up the Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes for her old Virgiui master’s family to Avcar at Washingtan’s inauguration. She remembered all about the revolutionary Avar.
