SPRING CREEK RIVERS BOARD.
Tub Bonnl met on \Y edncsday last at 11 a..in. The members present wore Messrs (Jeoriio T>ndson'(chairman) J. IT. lied wood, and C. O'Dwyev. 'Hie minutes of the previous meeting wove read and confirmed. The Chairman reported that in aeeordancc with instructions received at last meeting, Mr Bed wood and himself had oponctUlio tenders which had been called for the extension of the embankment at Springfield, and had accepted the lowest, beingthat of Alexander Craven atl/2 8s (id per chain. Tt was resolved that the action of the Chairman and Mr Tied wood lie 'confirmed. A deputation consisting of Messrs Bowler, Murray, Mills, Herd, and Andrill waited on the Board and pointed out that the embankment round the betid above llobinsoh’s was in event danger, and they were afraid that if the matter was not. attended to at once the next fresh in t..c river would be likely to carry it away. The Board promised the deputation to attend to the matter, and it was ultimately resolved to remove a portion of the embankment further from the river. The Secretary was instructed to call for tenders by Wednesday, the ' 7th instant, and the Chairman and Mr Bed wood were appointed to open .and accept. The Board then adjourned.
