George Cleghorn, legally qualified medical practitioner, etc., deposed to having been called the previous day, by the husband of the last witness, who told him that his child had died suddenly. \\ ltness went to sec the child, but could not see any indications as to the cause of death on an ordinary examination. Next morning witness made a post mortem examination of the body, and found that the child had been suffering from pleurisy and inflammation of the pericardium, which was the immediate cause of death ; the lungs were congested. It would be difficult for anyone not a medical man to know that the child was suffering from serious illness. Witness advised the father to have an inquest held. _ This was the whole of the evidence, ancl the jury, without retiring, returned a verdict of “ Death from natural causes.
