Notices. MELBOURNE International Exhibition, 1880. To be Opened October ISSO, and Closed March ISSI. fTVHE Local Committee (His WorX ship the Mayor and Borough Council) request the co-operation of the Public in their endeavors to have the natural resources of the Provincial District represented as fully as possible at the-Exhibition at Melbourne. Intending exhibitors of Grain, Wool, Flax Rope, Timber, Minerals, &e., are requested to communicate with the undersigned, from whom all particulars may be obtained. John T. Robinson, Town Clerk. Borough Council Office, Blenheim, April 28th, 1880. NEW ZEALAND REGULATIONS. 1. All exhibits must, unless otherwise specially arranged, be forwarded to the Executive Comissioner for New Zealand at Melbourne, through the Local Committees, any time after the Ist June, and not later than the first week in July ; and no articles can be received after tiie loth August. 2. The Collectors of Customs have been directed by the Government to arrange for the transmission of the Exhibits at the public expense and free of charge to the Exhibitors. 3. The space which has been allotted to New Zealand is only 8,000 square feet, including passages, so that the greatest economy will be required in its appointment. Animal and Vegetable products will be seperately dealt with under Regulations of which due notice will be given. As the Commissioners for New Zealand are required to furnish, before the Ist June, 1880, approximate plans showing the manner of allotting the space assigned to them, and lists of their Exhibitors, and other information necessary for the production of the Official Catalogue ; and as it is further provided that space assigned and not occupied on the Ist September, 1880, will revert to the Commission, it is necessary that every proposing Exhibitor should apply before the 15th May for a share of the space allotted to New Zealand, according to the printed form provided, copies of which will be furnished to applicants by the Local Committees. 4. All applications for space must be properly filled up, approved by the Local Committees, and be accepted by the Executive Commissioner, to insure reception of the Exhibits by the Commissioners. 5. In the final arrangement of the New Zealand Court, Exhibitors will, far as possible, have allotted to them the space applied for; but the Commissioners, reserve the power of making such modifications as may be faund necessary. G. Each package must have two of the flag-address labels, affixed to differ ent but not opposite sides, and must also bear a distinctive mark, such as 15 l A IIT or A II -r the letters being the initials of the Exhibitor, the upper number representing the total number of packages sent by him, and the lower figure the particular number of the package. 7. Each Exhibitor, is required to fill up and sign two Forms of Report for Judges. 8. If more than one Exhibit is packed in a case, it will be advisable to distinguish each Exhibit by a serial number. 9. All expenses of transport, after Exhibits are received by Local Committees, will be undertaken by the Commissioners. 10. It is very necessary to insure that nothing is exhibited which does not excel in quality. Exhibitors should therefore be very careful in their selection of samples. 11. The Commissioners would specially urge that the following articles be exhibited in the quantities specified:— Grain, Pulse, Grass Seeds, &c. — 1 measured bushel. Flour, Meal, Arc.—2slb. W 001.—6 fleeces. Woollen Goods.—Whole pieces. Coal. —Section of seams, samples of not less 1 cubic foot each. Timber.— Series of uniform-sized samples. Sections with the bark on and one face polished, the other being left in its natural state. Specimens of marketable timber to be not shorter than 3 feet. Furniture. —Manufactured from New Zealand wood. Flax.—Dressed Fibre, in 50-lb bales. Rope, and other Manufactured Articles in coils and other marketable packages.
