MARLBOROUGH LAND BOARD. .

Tiie Board met at 11 o’clock’on Monday. Present—The Chief Commissioner, and Messrs Robinson, Hodson, and Paul. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Leave of absence was granted to Mr I ngles from the present meeting.

_he Chief Surveyor reported that instructions for the survey of the lands included in applications No. 4, Maori Bay; No. S, Kenepuru; and No. 9, Clover Bay, have been given to the surveyor at work in that locality, who is now engaged on minor triangulation, and carrying the same to the site of these surveys, and they will be proceeded with shortly. The Police Department made an application to the Government for the use of a re-serve-section Go, town of Havelock—and the Minister forwarded the application to the Board, who offered no objection to the land being handed over for police purposes, A letter was read from Mr A. F. Tenney stating that he had made arrangements with Mr Ingles for 200 acres of timber on on land leased by him from asking the Board’s sanction to the arrangement. The Board resolved that at present they see no objection to a transfer of Mr Ingles’ lease and timber license for 200 acres of land to Mr,Tenney, and it was also agreed that the Ranger be requested to inspect and report to the Board on this land, and also to give a general report of the timber land of the Crown in the Kaikoura district. It was resolved that no further steps be taken to put up for sale the Mahau Run, Kenepuru, as the Board deems it advisable that it should be retained under the deferred payment system. Deferred payment licenses were approved of as follows : —92 acres, section 3, block 1, Tennyson Survey District, Pelorus —to T. Clifford; llSa Ir, section 1, block, 1, ditto, to W. Gould: 47a 2r lop, section 2, block 1, ditto, to E. C, Cox. A license under clause 149, of the Land Act 1577, was granted to Messrs G. Arbor and Alexander Arbor, authorising them to occupy sections 95, 97, 99, 101, and 103, — town of Kaikoura, at£s a year.
