THE promoters of this undertaking have succeeded in obtaining from the Government, a Gold Mining Lease of 10 acres of land situate at Wilson’s Beach, Wakamarina, at a rental of £1 per acre, and a Lease under the regulations for the term of 15 years will issue in due course. The land thus obtained, is situate on the river Wakamarina, and consists of a rock bound terrace through which gold has been traced for the distance of upwards of a mile, and which has been prospected in 7 different places along the lead with successful results. The face is 60 feet from the surface to the bottom, and there are three layers of wash, each about 5 feet thick, and each of which has shown on working from a grain to two grains of gold to the dish. All necessary water for the working of the land consisting of seven Government heads 20 in. x 2 in. has been secured by the promoters, and this supply of water further commands two miles of country. The proposed mode of working is by hydraulic power, with a sufficient sluicing fall, which from the nature of the land and other advantages secured, is easily obtainable. The Lease and Water Rights will be vested in the Company on its incorporation, and the promoters reserve to themselves 2000 fully paid up shares in the Company when formed. In view of these facts and the promising indications obtained from the various testings made, the promoters can with every confidence appeal to the public to take up shares in this undertaking, aS ithas all the elements of success to recommend it, and cannot fail under proper management to afford a handsome return upon the capital invested. As soon as the necessary amount is subscribed being not less than twothirds of the entire number of shares the company will at once be incorporated and operations commence.
