Leary and Campbell report markets as follows :—Sales in fruit no improvement, fowls 3s Oil per pair, ducks 4s 3d, eggs 3s per do/.., .onions £o, cheese 5d to 5 Ad, butter (fresh) Old to lOd, sn.lt do. Gd, Hobarttown jams (,11b tins) 6s Gd per doz., chaff £5 per ton, oatmeal 10s per cwt., pollard £5 to £5 10s per ton, bran £3 15s to £4 do, flour (Wood’s 100’s) £l2 pel- ton, oats Is L)d to Is lOd, Poverty Bay 4s, chick wheat 2s 9d to 3s, rye grass 4s per bushel, cocksfoot 4d per lb, peas 4s to 4s 3d, carrots 2s Gd per cwt. Christchurch, May 27.
Mr J. L. ’Wilson reports:—Grain is flooding the market, and comparatively little doing. I cannot report on potatoes' as satisfactory.- Grass seed is moving slowly. Clearing sales of farm stock are very numerous, but prices have been fair as a whole. Wheat is moving at from 3s 3d to 3s Gd f.0.b., with no brisk market. Oats are fetching Is 3 to lsGd, and one lotofsoo sacks Is 7s f.o.b. Barley sold in small lots at from 2s Gd to 2s Sd, very good quality ; second class is unsaleable. Rye grass some at 2s Gd to 2s 9d, but such as requires to be cleared is not worth more than 2s. Potatoes are quoted at 255. There is a difficulty in placing at this price. The outside markets are low in all the colonies.
