LOVE AND LIFE. !f Life were like this river, And thou, sweet heart, were mine, Ye’d drift adown for ever, And think this life divine; f Life were like this river, And thou, sweet heart, were mine.
sut Life is full of sorrow, Of pains that pains forecast; Vhat joy is ours we borrow From sorrows of tlio past; itill loDging for the morrow, Still grieving while’t doth last.
!o, while the stream smooth flowing Reflects a liquid blue, jet us, our own hearts knowing, Each unto each be true, >o Time a joy bestowing Shall give kings never knew.
