Cutt's b gMata, 5 yrs, 9stßlb ... 2 Fraser’s Betrayer, 3 yrs, 7st 91bs ... 3 After some attempts Mr Campbell got them away on pretty even terms, except Norseman, who had all the worst of the start. Marie Antoinette cut oat the running at a hot pace, with Luna, Titania, Camballo, Volunteer, and Foul Flay close up, and Betrayer last. In this order they ran till near Ford’s, when Mata began to draw up, aud t Foul Play took charge, with Luna close up, Camballo and Titania next.

Mairie Antoinette, Volunteei, and Betrayer, and Norseman forming the rear division Coming into the straight run in Mata showed in front —Camballo. Foul Play, and Luna being close up, and kept in this order until near home, when Camballo came with a rush, overhauled Mata, ami won by half a length, after a fine race: Betrayer was 3rd.
