OMAKA ROAD BOARD.

The Board met this morning, when the Inspector of Works reported that Mr Harrington declines to go on with his contract to form 28 chains of the Alabama Road ; Neville, the next tenderer, at 21s 6d per chain is willing to do the work at that price provided he is allowed to have the benefit of the work already done. The Alabama ditch is choked up with watercress, and the Inspector has engaged Neville’s party to clear it by day work. The Board approved of the report. The Secretary was instructed to take steps to put the valuation in a legal position. it T MrDouslin, the valuer to the Board, handed in the valuation for the year 1880. The amount was L 9,107. It was resolved that their Bank bechanged from the Bank of New Zealand to the National Bank. The Board then adjourned.
