Messenger Maid was one of the foundation mares of the N.Z. Trotting Stud Book. Watless was a full sister to Authoress, the dam of the Australasian champion, Author Dillon. President Wilson is a handsome bright bay horse standing 1.0.2 hands. On account of his breeding he was purchased as a 2-year-old at SOOgns, and a year later he won the Great Northern Trotting Derby (1017). His racing career was terminated by an accident which occurred shortly afterwards. President Wilson has served seasons at the stud and has proved himself a sure foal getter, and his young stock show great quality and bono, and are considered among the most promising youngsters.
