STOCK SALES.
MORRINSVILLE. The prices at the Farmers' Auctioneering Co.'s stock sale at Morrinsville on Friday showed no signs of improvement since a slight drop occurred a little over a month ago. The yarding of beef was fair, but the quality of fat cows and steers was not quite up to the standard of the recent Morrinsville sales held by the company, the prices suffering in consequence. The top price for heavy fat bullocks was £lO 10s, while fat cows did not exceed £6 ss. Dairy cattle were represented in small numbers, but included some pedigree Jersey heifers on behalf of Mr. W. Luxton, of Waitoa, one realising 27gns. Only two lines of sheep were penned, but pigs were in fair numbers, the values remaining firm. The prices were:— Beef: Heavy fat bullocks, £9 8s to £lO 10s; fat steers, £8 5s to £9; fat cows, £5 to £6 ss; lighter sorts, £4 to £4 15s; forward cows, £2 5s to £3 ss; store cows, £1 to £1 ss; yearling Holstein heifers, £3 ss; yearling Shorthorn heifers, £1 10s to £1 15s; yearling Jersey cross heifers, £2 to £2 14s. Dairy Cattle: Best heifers, £8 to £10; others, £3 to £5 15s; best cows, £6 to £7 10s; others, £3 5s to £4 10s; pedigree Jersey heifers, 22gns to 27gns; bulls for breeding purposes, £6 to £8 ss; potters, £1 15s to £3 15s. Sheep: Fat ewes, 275; fat hoggets, 33s Gd. Pigs: Light baconers, £3 3s to £3 ss; best porkers, £2 9s to £2 14s; unfinished, £1 15s to £2; best slips, 27s to 335; poorer sorts, 18s to 20s; woaners, 14s to 15s 6d. Light harness horses offered on behalf of Mr. W, B. S. Lindsay, sold from £l2 10s to £l7, another realising £4. WESTFIELD. At the Westfield sale on Wednesday there was a further fall in the price of beef. I Sheep were slightly easier and lambs and calves declined in value. There was an improvement i in the price of pigs.
