OKOROIRE SPRINGS.

Messrs. J. Chalmers and T. Mulholland this week released 27,000 trout fry in the Waimakarere stream and the Waihou river. The fry were received from Rotorua at the order of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society and arrived in a healthy condition. They were released a few hours after arrival. The amount of cream being- delivered from the Springs and Pateterc district is much heavier than that for the same period last year. _ The season has opened most promisingly. The lambing season also has been more successful than was anticipated after the cold and wet winter. The percentage is well over the 100 and quite up to last year's figures.
