The Farmers' Auctioneering Company held their usual sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was a fair varding, being principally represented. Prices for dairy stock showed a sharp rise on previous sales. Sheep: Fat ■hoggets, £1 Kss Gd: fat sheep, £J Ma to £2 Is; forward hoggets. £1 Gs Gd. Pigs: Weaners, good, £1 to £1 ;>s; others, 14s to 17s; slips, good, £1 10s to £1 16s; porkers, £2 5s to £2 12s. THE LONDON MARKET. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated September 21, 1023, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as Prime Canterbury lamb: 29/361b, llgct poi' pound; 37/421b, lid per pound; 43/501b, 10?.d per pound. Second-quality lambs: lOgd per pound. Other selected brands of lamb: 29/ 801 V Ud per pound; 37/421b, lOgd per pound. . Mutton: Light-weight wethers, B a d per pound; medium-weight wethers, 8d per pound; heavy-weight wethers, 7id per pound; ewes, Old per pound. Ox Beef: Fores, 2M per pound; hinds, 43d per pound. There is a slightly better demand for lamb and beef. Mutton slow of sale.
