STUD NOTES.
VALKYKIAN'S FIKST FOAL. The first foal to he sired by the Matamata-owned English-bred horse, Valkyrian, made its appearance at Hinuera last week. The youngster, which is the result of a mating with Mr. M. Pcnitito's Waitamahine, is bred on very solid lines and is described as being exceptionally pretty. ROYAL SIGNET SOLD. Mr. F. Richmond's Clydesdale draught entire, which has been at the service of Matamata and district breeders for several seasons, has been sold and will be located at the Auckland City Council's stud farm at Riverhead. Mr. A. McArthur is breaking in a Roval Soult youngster for Mr. C. Casey, of Waharoa. This filly is a sister to Queenie Soult.
