WALTON.

ANZAC DAY. A large gathering assembled at the Walton school last Monday alternoon to celebrate the memorable day of Anzac. There were many returned soldiers present. The ceremony was commenced by all singing “Thy Will Be Done.’’ Mrs Gillingham presided at tho organ. Speechos concerning tho brave Anzacs and others were mado by the following : Messrs Lawson, Jenkins, W. Mapp, L. Mapp and Gillingham ■ The children then marched round tho tlag and saluted. Tho National Anthem was then sung. A solo,. “Good Night,” was sung by Miss M. Hirst. Three cheers were given for the soldiers. The ladies provided the afternoon tea, which was thoroughly enjoyed.
