MATAMATA TOWN BOARD.
Fortnightly Mooting. The fortnightly meeting of tho Matamata Town Board was held last week, Mr J. Price presiding. Messrs G. G. Bell. W. A. Gordon and J. Mclntyre wero also present. SYMPATHY. A vote of sympathy was accorded Rev. and Mrs Jackson in connection with the death of their daughter, Mrs Sepio. RESIGNATION. A letter was before tho Board from Mr J. F. Vospor resigning his seat on tho board. The resignation was accepted with regret. FOOTPATHS. Tho chairman referred to the practice of farmers and tradespeople of driving on tho newlyformed footpaths in tho town area, staling that it was useless the board doing work if residents destroyed it. It was decided to draw tho, a<tention of the police to the matter and asking them to make an example of offenders. COMMITTEES. The chairman and Mr J. Mclntyre wero appointed a Hall committee and the chairman ami Messrs Gordon and Mclntyre a Works committee. TELEPHONE HOURS. With tho view to asking for a continuous telephone servico Mr W. A. Gordon was appointed to investigate.
