THE T.T.T. CO.'S LINE.
Dissatisfaction Among Settlers. '; u . The manner* in which theTaupb Totara Timber ,00.. has treated the settlers having farms situated adjacent to their line between Putaruru and Tokoroa has given rise to dissatisfaction, according to a statement made by I Mr W. Carr.-Eolleit in the course of an interview. "The company's charges," >said Mr Carr-Rollett, "seem to b'e excessive and appear -to be growing. Some of their rolling stock is in an unsatisfactory condition. The compartments are in a filthy condition, and it seems to me that it is the duty of the Government to exercise supervision over the line, as they have the right to do." Another thing, Mr Rollettj stated, has caused the ■settlers'a great deal of annoyance., The company has run short of canvas covers, and the company ,baye notified settlers that unless they indemnify the company against loss owing to manures and other perishable goods spoiling they will rtot oarry the. goods. The settlers were advised to canoel all orders for such supplies.
