PUKETURUA

A successful social was held on Friday evening, the proceeds of which are to go to the hall fund. Mr Duxfiold, who recently purchased Mr J. Ruthe’s farm, has made a start on the place. He is engaged at present in ploughing a large area for swedes. Mr F. Peters expects to start on his new farm shortlyA movement is afoot to form a tennis club at Puketurua, and hopes are entertained for a successful season. Mr Oldham, a candidate for Rotorua electorate, was recently through tho district. A large area of oats has been sown in the district this season, and the whole look to be doing remarkably well.
