A large number of outside buyers were m attendance and buyers from Thames Valley and Gisborne were operating. .Beef sold freely prices being equal to Westfield. There was an advance in yearlings, about £1 a it is noteworthy that some -bigger prices than 2 year olds. There was a good demand for 'Stores, and sheep sold well. A lot of poor quality animals were yarded in the dairies, and in consequence prices suffered. For any thing good there-was a keen demand, And big money wns realised. Prices : Beef. A pen of fat steers offered by Mr b. A. Pollen sold at £2l lOs ; 4 beasts offered -by Mr J. Clulow sold dt '£22 lOs ; others £ls 10s to £lB 4s ; a line by Mr\Y. Dickie were sold for £2O ss. 1’ at cows, prime, from the Mnukoro estate, £lB lis 6d to £22; lighter cows £lO 10s to £ls 10s; a line of 200 well-grown steers in poor condition from North Auckland were sold at prices ranging from £l2 2s 6d to £l3 10s; 2-year-old steers, good quality, £9 8s 6d to £9 3s; poorer sorts £6 18s to £7 6d ; yearling steers, extra good, £6 6s to £7 7s : ordinary quality £4 4s to £5 10s; poorer sorts 30s to £2 JOs; 2-year-old heifers £6 (is to £7 5s ; •p, line of fine yearling heifers offered by Motion Bros., £7 17s 6d; others £4 15s fci £6 7s ; poorer sorts £2 10s to £2 lis 6d. Pigs, porkers, £4 Is to £4 11s; slips £2 14s ; weaners 37s to 435. MORRINSVILLE HORSE SALE. About 200 horses were entered at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s horse sale on Tuesday. There was a great difference between the prices realised at the sale and war prices. All classes of animals sold well, and the prices were a great deal higher than at last year’s sale. It was very noticeable that the number of horses passed was comparatively few.. Heavy draughts sold up to £42. Spring cart sorts were in strong demand and sold at from £22 to £32. Hacks found owners at from £i4 to £lB, one particularly line hack brought £2B. There was little en(iuiry for weedy sorts and prices were low.
