An Irishman’s Brogue.
To the Editor. Sir, —I will be very glad if the incident you report in your paper of October 2nd, re an Irishman and the local chemist, provides your readers with amusement. But lam inclined to think it borders on ridicule. And tho Irish, with other things, have had more than a fair share of that. They may supply a little amusement for a fellow as they supply a Premier for a country or a bull dog for a navy, but that’s their business and not necessarily for publication. Hie rich brogue you report is no disgrace, obvious as it is that the Irish tougue would never have given way to brogue had Irishmen never been molested. 1 am, etc., J. M.
