METEOROLOGICAL.
The rainfall at "Greenmeadows," Matamata, as recorded by Mr W. Kirkness, for the month of
August was 6.37 inches which fell on 16 days. The heaviest fall • was 3.05 inches on the 28th, which was also the greatest fall on any one day since 20th November, 1 917 - , t The rainfall at Tirau for the month of August was 5.77 inches. Rain fell on 14 days. The maximum fall on one day was 3.10 inches on the 28th. The rainfall for the same month last year was 2.86..
