STOCK SALES.
MGRMNSVIIXE. There was n large attendance at the Fanners' Auctioneering Coy's sale at Morrinsvillo on Friday. Tlio yarding was not so heavy as usual. There was a fair entry of mutton and a small entry of beef and pigs. Dairy stock was not up to the usual Morrinsvillo standard. Many wove' passed in. Mutton and beef were firm. A lino of ewes in lamb, sold on bohalf of Ml* J. W. Williams, of Taluma realised £2 15s, whilst the prico for 2tooth wethers is said to be a record for the yards. There was a decided drop ill dairy cattle, and pigs were easier. Sheep —fat wethers realised from 46s 9d to 52s 7d, fat hoggets 81s to 80s 9(1, ewes in lamb 555. Cattlo-stocrs £JS 15s to £lO lis, fat cows £l2 7s Cd to £l4, storo cows £o 5s to A 7 Bs, 2J to 8-year old steers £8 to £8 4s, 2-year old steers I'O 7s Gd to £0 14s, yearlings £4 10s to £5 Bs,. calves £2 to £8 15s. Dairy stock—good heifers fetched from £l4 to £lB 10s, more backwaul sorts £8 to £l2, good cows £l4 to £l9. backward cows, full quality £8 to £ll. A line of dairy cows in backward condition were offered on behalf of Mr A. llobins and 8 found owners at from £Blos to £l6 10s. Pigs—porkers sold at £2 17s to £8 4s, slips 82s to 88s. ■ MATAMATA. Tho Farmers' Auctioneering Company had an exceptionally largo yarding at Matamata on Wednesday. Beef sales were firm, but dairy stock was much easier. A pen of steers sold by Mr F. Richmond brought £22 10s. Prices wore : Dairy cows (choice) £l7 10s to £2l, medium quality £l3 to £ls, more backward sorts £lO to £ll 10s, dairy heifers £ls to £l6 ss; others £lO 10s to £lB. Dry stock, prime fat steers £22 10s, lighter £ls to 16 gns, heavy fat cows £l4 7s to £l6 17s 6d, lighter £ll 15s to £lB 4s, 2£ to 3yr steers £lO lis to £l2 6s, 2yr steers £8 8s to £9 12s 6d, conditioned cows £8 148 to £9 4s, store cows £5 18s to £6 12s 6d, 2yr empty heifers £7 5s to £7 16s. Sheep: fat hoggets £2 2s to £2 4s 6d, others 80s to 82s 6d. Yearling steers £4 4s to £4 17b, smaller £8 2s to £3 188, yearling heifers £4 7s to £5 ss, smaller £8 4b to £3 16s, mixed yearlings £4 4s to £4 lis, fresh dropped calves to Bs.
