WALTON.
Mrs Martin and family and Mr and Mrs W. Crawshaw and family were entertained at a social and dance in the Walton hall last week prior to their departure from Walton. The danco was in every way a success. Miss Myra Boss and Mr Crawshaw contributed songs, and recitations were contributed by Mrs J. Dickie and Miss G. Dixon. Mr W. McLean acted as M.C. and various volunteers were responsible for the music. Messrs T. Mears and L. Mapp addressed the gathering, and spoke in teTms of praise of the work Mrs Martin and family and Mr and Mrs Crawshaw had done in the district, and voiced the general regret felt at their departure. Mrs Martin was made the recipient of a canteen of cutlery, and Mrs Crawshaw was given a silver tea set. Best wishes for their future welfare were expressed. Prior to the departure of Mr and Mrs G. Walker and Mr and Mrs L. Heatley from the district residents of Walton assembled at the borne of M r Walker and bade both families farewell. Mr A. Adams spoke to the 70 guests present, and banded Mrs Walker and Mrs Heatley a silver jam dish each. Speeches were made, and a happy time /was spent until the early h<ws of the morning. Mr and have left for Hamilton,, ' and Mr and Mrs Heatley have gone to Papakura. Mr C. Trapskie, of Walton, has disposed of his farm.
