CLEARING SALES. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. conducted a C ■ mug salo at Okauift on Friday, for Mr T. A. Hopkins when spiritod bidding was forthcoming for the herd of '22 cows, throe of which wero in milk. The cows wero all grade Jerseys, practically pure-bred and wore stated to have given 5625 lbs of buttorfat for la3t season, and this on acros. 'The average per head was £2O 14s, and tho top price cow readied £26, being purchased by Mr A. Day. The principal buyora wero Messrs A. Day, ~ J. W. Finnerty and M. Madill, who T._ between them purchased about 18 of the 22 cows. Two year heifers brought from £l2 to £l4, and heifer calves (13) £8 12s. Tho latter wero purchased by Mr A. C. Vesper. Tho pure bred Jersey bull “Emperor’s Delight ” was purchased by Mr C. 0. Neal, Te Pei, at 19 gns. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company conducted a clearing salo at Turanga-o-moana for Messrs Gibson and Clothier on Monday. An avorago of £ls 5s was realised for eaoli of 88 sound springing cows, the top price being £27 (2), paid by Mr McKenna. Tho principal buyers wore Messrs McKenna, J. R. Self, P. Quinlan, T. Bottoraley, D. Montague and Watson. Eight empty cows realised £lO 7s 6d, heifer calves £2 3s, stoor calvos 30s, springing heifers to £9 15s, medium draught horses (2) £32 oach. A Jersey cow at prolit, with calf, sold for Mrs J. Miles brought £24 10s, be- ' ing purchased by Mr A. Day. The Farmers Auctioneering Co hold a cloaring salo for Mr T. S. Gray, at Tailioa on Tuesday, and good prices woro realised. A Berkshire sow and litter of ten realised £l7 10s, fat hoggets brought £2, storo lambs 15a, yearling steers £4, other steers £1 10s, twenty-five good 2J-year steers brought £l2 15s per hoad (bought by Mr W. F. Harding), another twenty-live 24-year steors brought £lO 15s, rising two year steers £7 10s, twenty-seven three year hoifers brought an average of £l4 Is, cows in milk brought £ll to £ls 10s, medium draught horses (good) brought £2O, £24, £27, and £2B 10s. A clearing salo was conducted by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. for Mr G. Lawcoek at Matamata mst week end, 70 cows offered realised Jpi averago of £ls 12s 4d.
