STOCK SALES.
MATAMATA. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company held its monthly stock snlo at Matamata on Wednesday, when there was the usual large yarding. Three auctioneers were engaged in selling at the one time. There was little demand for young stock, about only half yarded being sold. Fat stock sold well as did store steers. The inquiries for dairy stock were few. About fifty bulls were yarded and were sold. Prices were :—Fat bullocks (small) £lt 5s to £ls 15s, fat cows heavy £l2 12s fid to £l4 ss, lighter £9 to £l2 2s (id, fresh and forward cows £7 to £8 10s, bulls (heavy canning) £l2 10s to £ls 10s, lighter bulls £8 10s to £lO 10s, 2£yenr steers £9 10s to £lO 6s, eighteeu months to 3 year steers £5 to £7 2s Gd, ditto heifers £4 15s to £fi 10s, calves mixed sexes £2 to £2 (is, poorer calves 17s 6d to 365, dairy cows (herd of 20) average £ll 7s-fid, herd of 10 average £9 12s, others £9 to £lO.
The N Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy Ltd held its monthly sale at Matamata on Wednesday. The yarding was not a large one but there was a good attendance and ruling prices were maintained. Prices were :—Pigs, weaners 17s 6d; sheep, lambs, store 15s 4d to 17s fid, mixed hoggets and owes, fat, £1 16s 6d. Cattle, calves £1 16s fid, fat cows £9 10s to £ll 10s, fresh conditioned cows A'B 10s to £9 ss, bulls small to £8 17s, dairy cows poor £8 ss, heifers in calf £4 10s to £C).
