Egineer’s Report. (Continued from Page 2) roadvand Kemp’s road. Graveson has done good work and made fair progress with the road to give access to Moore’s section. In the Patetere riding Clay has done grader work on Totman’s road, old Cambridge road, Hinuera Valley road and out to the Soldiers’ Settlement, and is now at work on Lawcock’s < and Griffith’s roads at Waiomou. Simpson and Jones have made good progress with their metalling contract at To Poi. Burton and Hunt have been engaged in surface work on the Kaimai, this road is now in good order. Marsh has been engaged in surface work on the Hiuuera Valley road, and on the Tirau to Putaruru road. The metal oidered for Tirau has been delayed owing to the department having stopped supplying tiucks for metal to the quarries. In the Putaruru riding Strong has resumed the work which was temporally suspended owing to the epidemic. Hendorsou has made good progress with the grader work at Puketurua. Bissett has made another start with grader work on the Lichfield road. Better progress has been made with quarrying stone at Putaj'um, but have been working short- handed owino- to the epidemic and an accident to Harwood (one of the quariymen). Kodgers has been engaged during the month fighting the epidemic and has done good work in that direcrioil. In the Taotaoroa riding Mahood, after delay caused by the influenza, has completed grader work on the Cambridge-Tirau road. The surfaceman has boen engaged in repairs and surface work. In the Maungatautari riding Mahood has again started the grader work and is .making fair progress. I have not yet succeeded in getting a satisfactory tender for the metalling contract.
