STOCK SALES.

MORRINSVILLE The yarding at Dalgety & Co.’s sale on Tuesday was one of the largest and Jjest for quality that the firm have. held. For stores and fairly well-grown cattle the market was firmer thah at the last sale, but young stock were selling at recent rates. There was small demand for dairy cattle. Prices were: Pigs, porkers £2 7s 6d. Sheep, fat ewes 25s to 27s 6d, ewes and lambs 19s, fat sheep (mixed sexes) 355. Cattle, fat cows £9 48 to £ll 15s, 3-year steers £l2 4s, 2year steers £9 ss, store cows £7 12s ,to £9 15s 6d, cows and calves to £8 13s, bulls £9 12s 6d to £l2 14s, empty 2-year heifers £7 7s to £9 12s (id, 18 months heifers £5 10s to £6, dairy cows in milk £9 10s to £l3 ss, springers £9 15s. There was another large yarding at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Coy’s sale on Friday. Though stock sold freely prices were eas^. This was especially the case with young stock, and it would appear that the “ boom ” prices of twelve to eighteen months ago are not likely to be repeated. Values are steadier right through. Prices were Cattle, fat steers £l6 to £l6 15s for an entry from Mr F. A. Pollen, prime . heavy cows £ll to £l2 Is, lighter sorts £9 10s 6d to £lO 15s, fresh and forward cows £8 to £9 10s, store cows £6 15s to £7 17s 6d, Bto 4 year steers good condition £l2 7s 6d to £l3 15s for aline from Messrs WashbUrn Bros, 2 to 2\ years steers £7 15s 6d to £9 17s 6d, 15 months steers £4 to £5 17 6d, 2 year heifers £6 10s to £8 15s, 15 months heifers £4 to £5 10s. Dairy cattle, good cows £IG 10s to £ls 15s, heifers £8 10s to £ll 10s, heavy bulls 10$ to 121 gns, lighter bulls 6£ to 8 gns. Sheep, fat wethers 30s to 345, fat owes 22s 9d to 305,-fat hoggets 26s 8d to 295, lambs 20s to 25s 6d. Pigs, weaners 19s to 275, slips 345. Seven pups out of Mr F. J. Marshall’s slut Lassie brought 2 gns apiece.
