MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Annual Meeting. On Wednesday the annual meeting of the Matamata County council was held. On the motion of Or. Pohlen, seconded by Cr. Stopford, Cr. J. W. Anderson was unanimously re-elected chairman. Members spoke in eulogistic terms of the manner in which the chairman had earned out his duties during many terms. Cr. Anderson briefly returned his thanks to the members. This is the-seventh occasion on which Cr. Anderson has been elected chairman.
