A pleasing function took place at the Bank of New Zealand yesterday afternoon, when Mr 0. A. Berry was presented with a purse of sovereigns on the occasion of his approaching marriage to Miss Wynne Bridget’, of Opotiki. Mr Horne, in making the presentation on behalf of the staff, referred to the high qualities of Mr Berry which placed him high in the regard of his associates on the staff made for him a wide circle of friends outside, and expressed the hope that ho would have a prosperous and happy future. Mr Berry, in returning thanks for the present, spoke of the good time he had had both in his work and socially and stated that his term here would always live as a happy memory.
