ON THE SCREEN.
" Mountain Dew." In the Triangle feature " Mountain Dew " to be screened at Matamata on Saturday Margery Wilson takes the part of Roxie, the illiterate little sprite of wild Kentucky hill-country. Into the settlement there comes a novelist. The schoolmaster seeing in him a possible rival for his job warns him to leave at once. But Vance, having caught sight of Roxie, decides that he will stay. Accordingly he accepts the position of "boss of the school" and a thrilling fight ensues between himself and the late occupant of the position. Vance wins but has to face further trouble because the " moonshiners" thereabout think he is a government agent seeking their illicit stills. In the end an exciting situation arises and he decides to marry Roxie, but while he is getting the necessary parson the moonshiners are on his tracks to do away with him. The setting and characterization are both excellently done. The fifth episode of the Mystery of the Double Cross will show Peter in hospital and the wounding of the masked stranger.
