MORRINSVILLE At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s sale on Friday there was a large yarding of stock though the number was not up to the entries that had marked the previous two sales. Beef was firm, sheep sold well but stores and young stock were easier. Dairy cattle sold well for anything- of quality. Piices : Pigs, weaners 30s. slips 31» to 355, porkers £2 7s to £2 17s. Sheep, fat wethers £2 for an entry from the Tuwhenua estate, fat ewes 34s Gd to 37s Id, fat hoggets 30s 6d to 34s 9d for an entry from Mr J. G. Kenyon, good store hoggets 25s lOd to 295, smaller 19s Bd, ewes with lambs 35s 3d to 36s Id. Cattle, prime fat steers £"l7 12s for a line from Mr E. Speedy, smaller £ll 18s, heavy fat cows £l3 15s to £l6 6d for a beast from Mr .T. Bell, lighter £l2 5s to £l3 ss, fresh-conditioned cows £8 lls to £9 15s, store cows £5 15s to £6 10s, | 2-sear steers £9 to £lO ss, others £8 10s ! to £8 18s, 2-year empty heifers £7 7s Od I to £8 4s, smaller £6 15s to £7, good yearling steers £6 Is to *£6 10s, smaller £4 11s to £5 2s, yearling heifers £4 4s to £5 11s. Dairy cattle, good heifers £ls 5s to £lB, others £9 10s to £l4 ss, backward sorts £7 10s to £ll, cows, good quality, from £2l to £25 for an animal yarded by Mr G. M. Milsorn, others £l4 10s to £l6, backward sorts £lO to £l2 15s. MATAMATA Dalgety and Co. held their monthly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when it is computed 800 head of cattle of all classes were yarded. The demand for yearling cattle was poor. Dairy stock sold very well, heifers realising to £l9 ss, Prices were : Pigs, sows in pig up to £6, porkers to £3 ss, weaners 30s to 355. Sheep, fat woolly hoggets 30s 3d, forward ewes 29s Cd, ewes and lambs 30s, shorn hoggets 22s Od. Cattle, fat bullocks, year (pen) £ls, fat cows (heavy) £l2 to £l3, lighter £lO 10s to £ll 12s, 3-yeur store steers £l2 10s, fresh-conditioned cows £8 to £9 10s, i store cows £6 5s to £7 10s, 2-year empty | heifers to £8 15s, yearling steers £5 to £6 10s, heifers £4 15s to £6, freshdropped calves (good) 30s to 355, fair Iss to 22s Gd, others 5s to 11s. Dairy stock, springing heifers (good) £IG to £l9 ss, others £ll to £ls, cows £l2 to £ls.
