ACCIDENT AT MATAMATA

Footballer Rendered Unconscious. On Saturday afternoon at \je sports, a serious accident happened to Mr Claude Stewart, who fell strinking his head, becoming unconscious. Mrs Carolan, assisted by the by-standers, rendered first aid and Dr Carolan, who had left the ground to attend to a case, was quickly brought back by Mr Smales in his car, the doctor bringing a hand-stretcher with him. The patient was quickly removed to the Matamata Private hospital where he regainedconsciousness. The sports meeting suddenly collapsed —people making there way homewards, and all other events were postponed. Much sympathy is expressed, as " Claude " had became a favorite in the district owing to his amicable andiobliging disposition.
