On Tuesday Mr 11. E. Pacey, managing director of the N.Z.D.A., met a number of the dairy farmers of the district. Mr Pacey spoko on similar lines to his Morrinsville speech. Speaking on the prices of dried milk productions ho quoted from a cable received from the Department, ol Agriculture in Canada regarding prices there. This gave the selling price of whole m 1 Ik powder at 35 cents per 11), and of skim milk powder at22l- cento. Dairy farmers wore roeo.ii’ing for the various products : butter, 61 cents pound; cheese, 54 cents pound; condensed milk, 61 cents per lb; dried milk, 63 cents per lb. Taking a cent at Yi this meant butter producers got 2/6H, cheese 2,3, condensed milk 28, and dried milk 27. He said that at the Matamata factory next year the supply would probably exceed the opacity of the factory. A classification of suppliers would be arranged as follows: (1) original guarantors and shareholders in the factory ; (2) Last year’s suppliers and shareholders; (3) All other suppliers. After some discussion Messrs Ryan, Barker and Carroll were appointed a committee to attend to the supply to the Matamata factory.
