WAHAROA.

A very successful social was held in the Waharoa hall on Thursday, 17th ult, and despite the inclement weather visitors were present from all the surrounding districts. The social was organised hy the young ladies of Waharoa, with Miss M. Casey as hon. secretary. About 35 couples were on the floor, which was in perfect condition for dancing. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion. Mr Ingham supplied the dancers with excellent music, and Mrs Nicherson and Mr C. Powell kindly played extras. Messrs Sherson and Elliott rendered several songs which were much appreciated, and Mr R. Scott proved himself a capable M.C. The nett profits amounting to £5 5s are to be given to the Navy league. It is the intention of the young ladies to organise several of these socials during the winter months for patriotic purposes. For Influenza take Woods' Great Peppermint Cure. Never fails. 1/6, 2/6. |
