The All Saints' Girls' club will hold a social and dance in aid of Red Cross funds in the Matamata hall to-morrow (Friday) evening. A special attraction will be the first item, a tableau by the "Hinuera Fairies," under the tuition of Miss Ring. Every preparation has been made for a most successful evening and tickets have been selling freely. During the last few days a billiard tournament between the suppliers and employees of the " Glaxo " factory has been in progress at Mr Heaps billiard saloon, and has resulted in a somewhat easy win for the employees. The highest break was 27, scored by Mr R. Scott. Those to win their games were: —(Employees), F. Bradley, T. Mateer, J. Cumming, R. Scott, W. Menary, W. Marchant, J. Whitworth; (suppliers) J. Hayes, W. Jenkins, and Len. ConnelL Child's pony for sale. Billiard tournament at Heaps' saloon. The Town board invites tenders. The Town board inserts notice re by-laws. The Town board gives notice re the dog nuisance. Gardening or general work is required. The Public works department gives notice that certain pieces ot road in the Mangakaretu district, near Tirau, have been stopped by proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette. Ponsiderable interest is being take* in the dancing and deportment classes.being conducted in Matamata by Mrs H. Annesley Smith. Quite a number of juveniles are now receiving tuition. Particulars and terms may be obtained from Mrs Smith or Mrs Free.
