MORRINSVILLE. There was an average yarding at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Coy.’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday. The market for cattle was dull. For calves there was little demand unless the quality was exceptional. There was an improved demand for sheep, and dairy heifers close to profit sold well. Prices: Fat cows £ll os to £l2 18s, fresh-conditioned cows ±9 2s Gel to £lO 12s 6d, store cows £5 12s Gel to £8 10s, 21 to 3-year steers £ll to £ll 12s 6d, 18 mos. steers £6 to £7 ss, 2-year heifers in calf £‘9 los, 18 mos. empty heifers £5 to £5 ss, good calves £4 to £4 10s, others £2 os to £8 7s 6d. Sheep, fat wethers 33s 9d to 84s Bd, fat ewes 24s Gd to 82s 3d, 2-tooths (mixed) 27s to 33s 9d, fat Jambs 24s 6d to 28s Gd, 4-tooth wethers 2Gs Gd, store ewes 10s Gd to los, ewes in lamb 2ls 3d to 2Gs, lambs Us 3d to 17s, cull lambs 10s to 10s 9d. Dairy stock, choice heifers £ll 5s to £l3 ss, cows £9 to £ll. Pigs, weaners 5s to 15s, slips 25s to 30s. MATAMATA HORSE SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Coy. held its annual horse fair at Matamata, on Friday, when about 30 unbroken and 100 broken horses were yarded. There was a large attendance and bidding was more free than at other district sales for some time. There was a good demand for anything sound. A grey draught gelding sold for Mr Nelson Banks, was purchased by Mr W. Cole at £4l The same vendor also realised top price in the hack classes, viz. £25, being bought by Mr R. Searle, Te Poi. Prices were: —Unbroken; 3-yr draughts, £lB to £25; lighter sorts, £G to £l2 10s. Broken : draughts, £24 to £4l; light farm horses, £l4 to £2l ; well-bred hacks, £l2 to £25 ; gig horses, £7 10s to £l4 15s ; riding cobs, £5 to £9 5s ; ponies £2 to £4, MATAMATA. Dalgcty and Co. Ltd held their monthly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when- over 500 cattle of all sorts were yarded. Ruling prices were maintained, and nearly all the yarding was sold under the hammer. A pen of three two-and half year heifers, in calf, sold for Mr W. MoNab realised £l4 a head. Prices were : —Heavy cows £ll 5s to £lB 7s Gd, lighter £9 to £lO 17s Gd, store cows £G 10s to £8 ss', eighteen month steers £8 5s to £los, heifers in calf £7 10s to £l4, calves (heifers) £2 5s to £3 10s, steer calves £3 10s to £4 11s, mixed sex calves (good) £3 7s Gd to £5 7s Gd, low conditioned calves 15s to 355, yearling steers £5 Us to £7 15, bulls £G 7s Gd to £ll.
