ACCIDENT AT OKAUIA.

Accidental Discharge of Gun. Whilst handling a double-barrel gun in which a charge had been inadvertently left, a youth named John Clair, aged 19 years, suffered severe injury. The trigger of the gun was released and shot passed through the groin. The sufferer received surgical treatment from Dr. Carolan, and was removed to the Hamilton hospital, where an operation was performed. Latest information is to the effect that the patient is progressing favorably.
