MORRINSVILLE. There was another large .yarding at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Coy’s sale on Friday. Prices throughout were firm and sheep showed an advance. There was an improvement in the price for calves. Prices were :—Sheep, fat mixed ewes and wethers 34s to 80s Or), fat shorn lambs 19s. f.it 'noouy lambs 19s 4d, 2 tooth ewes 21s 3d to 24s Gd, sound mouthed ewes 17s 3d to 225, poor ewes 8s to 13s fid. Cattle, fat steers £l4 3s to £l7 ss, the top price being secured by Mr M. McDonald, Kiwitahi, heavy fat cows £l2 os to £l4 ss, lighter sorts £ll 4s to £l2 2s, fresh conditioned cows £7 11s to £B,l (is, poor store cows £'(i 17s to £7 2s, 2yr steers £lO 2s Gil to £lO 10s, _1 8 to 20 months steers £7 5s to £‘B 7s, hulls (heavy) 11to 14] gns. Calves (400 yarded) best steer calves £3 15s to £4 15s, best heifer calves £2 7s to £4 48, the top price being obtained by Mr P. Smith, Waitoa, mixed £2 to £4 3s. Dairy cows £9 10s to £l4 10s, heifers £5 to £lO 10. There was a large yarding at Dalgety Co.’s sale on Tuesday, but prices throughout were easier than recent sales. Tnere was a big entry of calves, but there was little demand at vendors’ prices. Prices were ; Fat heifers £lO, fresh-conditioned cows £8 9s to £7O, empty cows £7 5s to £8 10s, heifers in calf £5 5s to £7 10s, 18 mos. steers £0 14s to £7 os, 2-year steers £9 to £lO 10s, heifers and calves £lO 10s to £ll, dairy cows £7O, calves (mixed sexes) £3 10s to £4 Is, steer calves £2 os to £4, heifer calves £2 to £3 17s fid, lambs (is fid to 13s 6d, ewes (mixed ages) fis fid to 12s, medium half draughts £lO to £2l 10s, hacks £3 to £5.
