There was an exceptionally large attendance at the Matamata hall pictures on show-night, as a result of which £6 has been donated by the committee to local Red Cross funds. We understand that a similar sum is to be devoted to the Salvation Army. An auction sale of produce (show exhibits) was afterwards conducted by Mr B. C. Taylor, for Red Cross funds, the sum of £9 12s 6d being realised. The dance held subsequently was very well attended and most enjoyable. Mr P. C. Ingham supplied the music and Mr C. D. Dawson was M.C.
