MATAMATA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

Executive Meeting. A meeting of the executive committee of the Matamata A. and P. Association was held on Monday evening, the president, Mr I. H. McNair, occupying the chair. Messrs Simpson, Ferguson, Banks, Schwarz, Madill, Taylor, Price, Porritt, Harding (2), Pohlen, Cranswick and Rollett (2) were also present. NEW MEMBERS. Messrs T. A. Hopkins (Okoroire), J. O’Shea (Gordon), F. Richmond (Hinuera), G. Paddy (Waitoa) and F. Hawke (Matamata) were elected members of the association. ROTORUA SHOW. The secretary, Rotorua A. and P. Association, advised that entries from members of the Matamata association would be received for the Rotorua show at three-quarter fees. AMUSEMENT TAX. The stamps office, Auckland, advised that by the terms of the Finance Act it looked to the association to collect all amusement taxes from side-shows.* at the forthcoming show. As members were not quite clear as to the association’s position regarding its own gates and members’ tickets receipts the secretary was authorised to make inquiries at the Cambridge show. SHOW ENTRIES. The secretary was authorised to visit the Cambridge and Rotorua shows for the purpose of canvassing for entries. Members were also asked to do their best towards securing en-? tries. GROUND IMPROVEMENTS. The- grounds committee submitted various suggestions for improvements to the show grounds, among which were the installation of another gate on the road for pedestrians, removal of the draught horse ring, and the erection of a small lean-to on to the industrial exhibits shed. . WORKING BEE. The ground committee also reported that there was a considerable amount of work to be done on the ground by members, and it was urged that a large working bee should attend on the ground on Saturday, March 16th. The report was adopted.
