STOCK SALES.

MATAMATA SHEEP FAIR. The Farmers' Auctioneering company held jits annual sheep fair at, Matamata on Thursday, over ten thousand sheep being yarded. Good prices were realised for first-class sheep, many of which were offered. The majority were purchased by outside buyers, special trains being chartered for Hawke's Bay .and ltotorua (for East Coast). Practically all lines changed hands, and the sale was successful in every respect. MOKRINSVILLE. There was a large yarding at Dalgety and Co's Morrinsville sale on Tuesday, the best yarding the firm have had since their opening here. Calves showed an advance in prices, but other lines maintained recent rates. Prices were : fresh conditioned cows £9 10s to £lO ss, store cows £7 158 to £8 7s, 2 year heifers in calf £7 lis Od to £8 10s, dairy cows £l3 5s to £ls 10s, dairy heifers £lO 5s to £ll, bulls 7 gns to £ll 7s Gd, calves mixed sexes £2 to £4 2s, steer calves £3 7s to £i 7s Od, heifer calves £3 to £4 lGs, shorn lambs 6s to 8s 9d, weaner pigs 20s, porkers 35s 6d. MATAMATA. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company held its monthly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was a large yarding, pigs especially being in good numbers, over 100 being in the pens. Prices were good for all sorts. For cattle ruling rates were maintained. A 3-year heifer sold by Mr J. H. Wilson realised £l3 ss. Two pens of fat steers sold for Mr W. Lambourne realised £l6 17s and £l7 10s respectively. Prices were: Fat wethers 20s 6d to 30s, ewes 25s 'id to 28s, steer calves £3 18s to £4 12s, heifers £3 ss'to £3 16s, mixed sexes £2 Pis to £3 19s, prime fat steers £l6 17s to £l7 10s, heavy fat cows £l2 5s to £l3 ss, lighter sorts £lO 7s Gd to £ll 13s, freshconditioned store cows £8 18s to £9 ss, 2-year steers £9 2s 6d to £9 10s, heavy bulls £l2 os to £l4, springing heifers £lO to £ll 15s, store cows (low conditioned) £6 15s to £7 Is, eighteen months to 2-year heifers £5 12s Od to £6 12s. Pigs: Sows in pig £3 os to £3 10s, small porkers £2 lis to £2 16s, weaners 15s to 255, suckers 5s to 14s.
