How the calf market has dropped. Twelve months "ago a Morrinsvillo farmer got £7 for calves in the Morrinsville yards. On Friday the best offer he could get for similar stock was £4 12s. The Te Aroha News is reliably informed that an amicable agreement has been come to by a conference of the Te Aroha District Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., the Waihou Valley Dairy Co. Ltd, and Messrs J. Nathan and Co., regarding the manufacture of glaxo. The Pahiatua Herald relates the following incident:—The story is told of an Auckland gentleman, a Britisher whose business occasionally brings him to Pahiatua. He had booked a reserved seat by the main trunk at Auckland, only to eubsecpiently discover it had been commandeered, by order, he was told, of an officer. The traveller, porforce, had to stand for most of the journey, and groat was his surprise and indignation on learning that his reserved seat was occupied by the notorious Count voa Luckner.
