Word has been received tha Captain Moore-Jones, of Matamata, has been promoted to the rank of Major. Major MooreJones is at present second in comof the 4th (Res.) Battalion, Auckland Regiment, at Sling Camp, and is likely to remain at Sling during the English winter months for special training purposes. When he last wrote he was enjoying the best of health notwithstanding a whole year of strenuous work on the Flanders front, keeping 4,000 men fully equipped for active service.
