Zane Kereopa celebrated his first birthday last weekend at his Mama’s residence at Avondale. This was well attended by some 30 children of Nga Hau e Wha. Tena koe Zane, “e tipu e rea mo nga ra o tou ao.” Sharon Hawke celebrated her 16th birthday at Bastion Point last Sunday. A hangi was served to all the guests. Included in this very special birthday was a farewell to David (Rawiri) Robyn, and sons Jason and Geoffrey Williams. They leave on 20th May for Tanzania, and will be away for two years. David was thanked by Bastion Point residents and supporters for all the legal assistance he contributed for Bastion Point before and during the Supreme Court trial.
Special thanks were also extended to Peter Rotherham and Dianne for their help too. Without their special expertise the case presented in the Supreme Court would not have been so well received. Our best wishes to David and family, and may you continue in your struggle for Human Rights.
“Haere atu ra David me to whanau. Mauria atu te aroha o te iwi Maori. Kia piki tonu te ora ki a koutou katoa. Na, tae atu koutou ki tena whenua, kaua e wareware kite hunga pani e takahia nei i muir nei.”
RangiMakawe Rangitaura and his daughter Asher and son in law Jim who have been staying at Bastion Point, attending the trial, were farewelled last weekend.
